Accessibility statement

Scottish Public Services Ombudsman is committed to making its website(s) accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

This accessibility statement applies to SPSO, SWF and INWO websites.

These websites are partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 or 2.2 AA standard. We are aware of a number of improvements that must be made to make our websites compliant. These include:

  • Issues with colour contrast
  • Issues with some link names not accessible for screen readers
  • Issues with how some content is presented to assistive technologies
  • Issues with accessibility of some PDF documents
  • Issues with alternative text for some images
  • Issues with site map and search.

We are currently undertaking a project to make the necessary improvements required to make our websites compliant. As part of this project, we have commissioned a full accessibility audit of our websites including manual user testing, feedback and recommendations for improving the accessibility of our website. We aim to make significant improvements to our website in 2024.

This statement was prepared on 16 October 2023 in response to feedback from the Government Digital Service and outcomes from our commissioned accessibility audit completed in September 2023.

This statement was last review on 16 October 2023 and will be reviewed on or before 16 October 2024.
